A Pope and a President

Two stories in the news have caught my attention.

First, the Pope's visit to Jordon can only be seen as a welcomed gesture. King Abdullah is among the more moderate and respectable leaders in the Middle East. Pope Benedict no doubt chose his destination deliberately.

The second is this item from Pakistan. Let's hope the new president has the balls and the capacity to carry through with his threat, and if needed, will accept assistance from Western democracies. Note there are already folks whining about civilians being killed by Pakistani bombs. That's what you get when you are dealing with Islamofacism, folks. Time to put those lofty post-WWII principles on the back burner. Groups like the Taliban and al-Qaeda couldn't be more pleased to see civilians killed if it makes for usable propaganda with leftards in the West.
