Speaking of the Big Newspapers

Is it any wonder they are gasping their last breaths?

The headline reads as follows:

Oldest Canadian Veteran of World War I dies at age 109 in Spokane

No. He wasn't the oldest of the WWI bunch. He was the only one. He might have been the oldest veteran, but his competitors would have to have been WWII vets. There's a difference, dear editors. Did your staff actually read the article before you picked the headline?

Touching story, btw. I remember reading about him a year or two ago. Even then he was the only WWI Canadian vet still living.

Godspeed, old soldier. May you rest in peace.
