More Good News, I Suppose

Total, Shell, ENI to end Iran investments

But doesn't that just make the "peaceful" nuclear program all the more justifiable? Oh, well, at least it starves 'em in the interim (which isn't very long) and reduces their capacity to meddle.

Ironically, one of Iran's vulnerabilities is that they're huge importers of refined gasoline. Iran has never had near enough refining capacity. The sanctions and various US efforts over years have prevented Iran from increasing their refining capacity.

Gasoline for retail consumers is heavily subsidized in Iran, so this is a real vulnerability for the mullah dictatorship. They don't dare significantly cut the price subsidy, but the regime is having increasing very serious governmental cash flow problems. That's another proverbial rock and a hard place for the mullah dictatorship, which only remains in power because of it's brutally harsh police state repressive measures.

Whatever the case, I'm glad to see the vice tightening.

Even in his recent visit to the UN, I detected a bit of desperation in Iamadinnerjacket's copiously contradictory words and buffoonery. At times the weasel was almost pleading.
