If Nothing Else, "The Rapture" Inspired....

UPDATE: Well, it's only 5:30 P.M. in Pago Pago, so maybe there's still time for the Rapture to begin, but it's 10:30 P.M. here, and I'm going to bed, so I hope my turn doesn't come up till tomorrow at the earliest.

...some delicious humour and ridicule from:

Ace of Spades HQ

The Daily Bayonet

Deborah Gyapong

Ghost of a Flea

Hot Air

Moose and Squirrel (Be sure to follow the links for a few laughs.)

Say Uncle (via Instapundit)

Pat Dollard

Rantburg

Simply Jews

...and some serious stuff (well semi-serious):

Power Line compares religious nutbarism with the CAGW crowd:
"At least the religious versions of the end of the world come with a promise of redemption for man and nature. The secular apocalypse is usually without hope. Yet they share one larger thing in common: the deep, passionate commitment that the end is near. And when the end doesn't come, instead of relief, there is disappointment. Fundamentalist preachers and environmental prophets-of-doom react the same way every time: they d go back over their math, and offer new predictions for the end. The preachers end up with dwindling congregations and radio audiences; the green prophets get appointed science adviser to the president."
And The Jawa Report tells of having the shit scared out of him as a kid.

Everyone else seems to have ignored it, worrying instead about the real threat of apocalypse.

Thanks for the link. Well, I guess the rapture is postponed again. I am not sure I shall see it in my lifetime... too bad.
