Drat! Why Couldn't That...

UPDATE:  Hehehehehehehe. Pipeline protest a big bust

=====Original Post Starts Here=====
...rogue satellite have landed on this?

Several hundred people gather on parliament hill to protest pipeline

And, oh, the drama!! 300 people came out!! 300 "risking arrest", I tell you!!!!

For such a righteous cause:
"Participants will also use this action to tell Harper we need to turn away from the tarsands and start building a green-energy economy that respects indigenous rights and prioritizes the health of the environment and communities."
And such a slate of big important people:
"The event features more than 20 environmental and indigenous organizations and boasts the support of a dozen Canadian celebrities.

Maude Barlow, chair of the Council of Canadians, has said the government needs a conversion plan to move to alternate energy sources."
Hmmm. Maude Barlow again, but I digress. After all, there's an important message to get across, brought to us by the National Union of Public and General Employees. Nah, I'd never heard of them before, either, but isn't this cute:
"In addition, the Assembly of First Nations, the Dene Nation, Athabasca Chipewyan First National (sic), Yinka Dene Alliance, We'suwet'en Nation, Unis'tot'en Nations, Rosebud Sioux Tribe and the Yankton Sioux Tribe all endorsed the Ottawa action. Many Canadian celebrities and activists are also lending their support to the action."
Nine of 'em. Nine Canadian "celebrities", who no one has ever heard of or who need a job. Well, not quite a dozen, but let's not get bogged down in trivialities. Victory is at hand!! By golly, plans for that damn pipeline will come to a screeching halt right now. Graham Greene wants it to. Either that or he needs a job. I guess Indians are no longer a big fad with Hollywood movie makers.

I nominate them all to get the Rachel Corrie Treatment at a pipeline construction site.

But, but, but...how will they get there? Fossil fuel burning airplanes? SUVs? Limousines?

They can get there in an as-yet unbuilt Gummint Motors car "powered by sunbeams and unicorn farts".

(That awesome quote is actually from somebody else, commenting previously at SDA. I LMAO at it and committed to memory. :-)
