Yup. This is a province where the NDP legacy equals stranglehold and it's main arena is legislation giving labour and, especially unions, the upper hand. The employer, or capitalism in general, is seen as guilty until proven innocent, and its a forgone conclusion that if you are an employer you must be guilty, guilty of something, even if you haven't been charged.

How about just because they don't want to be in a union and pay Danegeld, er, dues.
Oh, I wish. But because we've had the NDP and it's predecessor, the CCF, in charge here forever, it's going to take a long time. Seems to me there's some Supreme Court ruling, backing this up, too.

If the Charter champions freedom of association, surely that freedom should extend to the right to NOT be forced to belong to an association (a union) which you do not wish to join.
As it is, the number of workplaces that are unionized is extremely small and not growing. If the option of not joining or not a union ever became available, I think unions would disappear over night.
