Damn Straight!!

Not that I'm a hockey fan, but it is our game, fer Cris sake:

There is “strong speculation” the NHL will announce Canadian expansion teams once the new CBA is struck

We'll take the one in Florida or the one in Phoenix. It's a game for cold countries, dammit!!!!

Ahem, a wee bit full of ourselves, aren't we? :-) Mind you, I'm not necessarily puffing American hockey. However, there IS a country called Russia, where they're just as hockey-crazy and talented at it as are you Canucks. Just sayin'...

Hockey was invented in Canada. Every kid worth his salt begins playing hockey the minute he can strap his own skates on and remain in an upright position on the ice.

And even without skates or even a rink, every kid has played shinny in the streets or in the farm yards.

Every little town in the country has at least one hockey rink and many of them are outdoor rinks.

It's been that way for generations.

And yes, Russia is also hockey crazy, just as they are in many northern European countries. There are many players from those countries playing on Canadian (and American) teams.

And may I remind you who won the Canada-Russia hockey series way back in 1972. And that was when Russian athletes were pumped full of steroids.

Hey, and the Flyers and Penguins are late comers to the game. Most of their players are Canuck or European, anyway:

I wouldn't want to rub it in now but did I mention the gold medals at the Vancouver Olympics?

Now if you want to boast and brag about baseball, I will concede before you even have a chance to begin. ;)

Oh, and I forgot to mention road apples. In the old days, where there was a shortage of pucks, the game used to be played with road apples.

Scroll down a bit.

You can't take hockey out of the Canadian boy. ;)
