"What else haven't they taught us?"

Well, here's one. One of the first acts of Republican Pres. US Grant, on assuming the Presidency in 1869, was to issue an Executive Order DE-segregating the US federal civil service. One of the first acts of "progressive" Democrat Woodrow Wilson, on assuming the Presidency in 1913, was to issue an Executive Order RE-segregating the US federal civil service. Democrat Wilson, born and raised in the deep south state of Georgia, with relatives who fought in the Confederate Army, was a real hard-core racial bigot.

Wilson also had screened in the White House, that notorious silent movie "Birth of a Nation", in which black men were demonized as sex-mad white women-rapers, and the Ku Klux Klan was presented as the great white knight heroes of the white race and protectors of white womanhood. Of the script and it's representation of black men and other racist racial stereotypes, Wilson made the remark that they're sadly true.

Here's another. It was also southern Democrat senators who blocked civil rights legislation for decades, starting in the 1930s Roosevelt Admin and going on into the 60s. It was only with some northern Democrat senators and a lot of non-southern Republican senators (ably led by Republican MINORITY Leader Sen. Everette Dirksen from Ill., who did much more to help Pres. Lyndon Johnson in this than did the Democrat MAJORITY Leader, a southerner from Texas) that the civil rights legislative acts were able to be passed in the mid- and late 60's. That's a long, ugly story that the Democratic Party would REALLY not like to have blacks well-educated about that history. Instead the Democratic Party has the unmeasurable chutzpah to call the Tea Party people racists and the Pro-Life people anti-woman misogynists.

Yeah, the Democratic Party doesn't need anybody to help them learn the Big Lie technique. They're world class experts with that.

Yars and yars ago, I was doing a special research project on an Indian reserve here in Saskatchewan. I was interviewing elders. I'll never forget the words of one of the old guys I talked with. He said, and I quote: "Welfare spoiled the Indian."
